Our Credentials

Our captains are extensively experienced and well qualified.  Vessel safety and human safety are our top priorities.  Neptune Marine Group will not compromise these standards.  Neptune is represented by captains with the following credentials:

  • US Coast Guard Licensed Captains, Near Coastal, 50 & 100 GRT
  • Standards of Training Certification Watchkeeping (STCW)
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • CPR with AED, Certified by American Red Cross
  • First Aid, Certified by American Red Cross
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certified
  • SafeGulf Certified
  • SCUBA Certified

Our STCW-certified captains have successfully completed the following critical safety assessments:

Our Experience

Neptune Marine's skippers have broad and deep experience captaining a variety of types and sizes of offshore vessels in the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

Our captains average 20+ years of experience operating transportation vessels, supply vessels, seismic cable vessels, sport-fishing yachts and private motor yachts, ranging in size from 25 feet to 170 feet.  We are experienced, credentialed and certified in all aspects of the operation, management and safety of vessels and crew.

We have additional expertise in the following areas:

Neptune Marine serves the East Coast, the Gulf Coast, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas, and our Geographic Range extends 200 miles offshore from the Boundary Lines of the United States.

FAQs

  • What is STCW?  STCW is the acronym for Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping.  In order to receive the STCW endorsement, a mariner must be trained and certified in Basic Fire Fighting, Personal Safety and Social Responsibility, Survival Techniques, First Aid and CPR with AED.  This certification is required in order for mariners on a US flagged vessel to enter any foreign port, including Canada, the Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands and Bermuda, among other international destinations.
  • What is TWIC?  TWIC is the acronym for Transportation Worker Identification Credential.  In order to obtain a TWIC, a mariner must undergo an intensive security and background check and approval, in order to access secured ports in the United States and internationally.
  • What is AED?  AED is the acronym for Automated External Defibrillator, which is effectively used in the process of administering Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
